The treaty of Yandaboo was signed in the year 1826. As per the treaty, the king of Burma ceded Arakan (Rakhine) and Tenasserim (Taninthayi) to the British. Burma lost its control over Assam, Kachar, Jayantiya, Manipur and agreed to give Rs. 1 lakh as war indemnity. They also allowed for staying an English representative to their royal court.
